"I Dreamed a Dream" Yes....and Music...my Muse, My First Love Stirs my Soul
Sun. October 31, 2010 at 10:38 PM
Huntsville TX Realtor, Mari Montgomery, Dreamed a Dream. She dreamed that her world would always be filled with music, she dreamed of sharing her song, literally and figuratively.
But, as in every good Sonata Form in Music, that Dream had a "Development" section.
Fast forward to the present--there was a "present." As I sat in the new "James and Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center" on the campus of Sam Houston State University last evening, my heart began to swell along with the crescendos of the fabulous brass section of the Houston Symphony Orchestra in their very first selection, Fanfare, Op. 59 by Aulis Sallinen The performance was last evening in Huntsville TX.
As the cacophony of overtones and undertones refracted from the smooth light wood finish, reminiscent of the look of Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, New York City, and was met by my very receptive and appreciative senses, I remembered. I remembered the feeling...
The feeling of the my first time....my premiere performance with a major symphony orchestra. I walked out on the stage dazed by the lights, mesmerized by every movement of the conductor. I wasn't nervous, just "scared to death."
But, as musician union rules go, when the rehearsal time is over---it's "over." They pack up and leave. Well, it just so happened the rehearsal time came to a close in the first 20 measures of my opening song. There were cuts, changes; the conductor "talked me through them." But, that's right no rehearsal. Oh my goodness. Yikes.....it was, let's say "thrilling."
Okay, I walked out on stage, the downbeat happened--what next??---I heard myself singing--I thought---oh god-- I was lost---I just "kept on singing." There you go, the next time you feel lost, just "keep on singing."
The next thing I knew everyone in the audience was in their feet. A standing ovation?? But wait-----no one from my family, or any even distant relative was attending said concert. ...

Huntsville TX Real Estate -- North Houston Real Estate -- A personal Book of Revelation

Huntsville TX Real Estate -- North Houston Real Estate -- "How -a-bout that!" A personal Book of Revelation:
You know, I cannot get specific --it is about a transaction-- Let's just say--maybe---just maybe there's justice in the world.
I have been attempting to figure out a situation with a transaction for several weeks. I finally got to the "bottom of it" just to find out--"ouch--that was the bottom and well, maybe--that wasn't the best thing to do---Maybe, I shouldn't have gotten to the bottom of it.
After all, ignorance is bliss. Or.....
Quick Sideline----don't worry, the dots will connect---however this is not a guarantee -- it all depends on your "randomness configuration calibration system." Never mind, here goes:
Got a call from a long time friend tonight who was in teaching on the secondary level for a very long time. Let's just she has definitely "earned her stripes" through a mega-school of hard knocks. And, just like is such a...

Home....home is what really matters

Home is what really matters...
My feelings about home are why I became a Realtor and then wanted to get as much additional training and education as possible with completing the GRI and CRS Designations within my first year and a half.
Why? Because I LOVE helping my clients find the right place for them and their families to come to after a long day. I want to learn every day so that I can be a better and better Realtor to assist folks and families find their place that transcends its 4 walls and 3 bedrooms and 2 baths....
a place where memories are made,
where cookies are baked,
where laughter permeates the family room,
where Monday Night Football is a religion...
the place you can let your hair down, not necessarily wear makeup,
curl up on a chair on the porch with an old book you've been meaning to get to, and listen as the fall wind
rustles in the trees.
Home...the safe place, the place to try that new goulash recipe that doesn't work out, so...

Huntsville TX Happenings -- Walker County Fair Association Halloween Carnival Saturday Oct 30th 5-10pm
Join the fun at the Walker County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 30th from 5pm to 10pm. Thee will be something fun for the whole family: Costume Contest, Haunted House, Fireworks Show !
Huntsville TX, located in East Texas just an hour north of Houston, TX on Interstate 45 offers a visit full of history, fun and a taste of the "Good Old Days." Huntsville TX has not been "spoiled" and hasn't lost that quaint "everybody's hometown" feel. That's why my husband and I visited, fell in love with this place and moved here.
It's an easy place to live. Neighbors watch out for neighbors, folks "set" on the porch and wave at passer-bys. Yes, we have shopping and the electricity works 24-7 and NO, the sidewalks do not "roll up" at 5:30pm, BUT, it does maintain an air of a place that would have those attributes.
Walker County Fair Association offers events around the...
