Conroe Homes - Montgomery TX - Showing Property With One Shoe On and, well...a sock on the other.
Yes....it was embarrassing. Yes....it hurt like a monkey. Yes.....I still showed property with one shoe on and a sock on the one that wouldn't fit into the shoe. Yes....I am as stubborn as my husband says.
What is it? Something in the air, this penchant for hurting myself at quite inopportune times.
Well, in my defense, it happens when I am exhausted as a result of pushing myself a little too hard. It happened when I was finishing up my last year as a high school choral director. I was soooo tired. I started my pre-licensure classes in the middle of our "contest season." I finished my pre-licensure classes, passed the big real estate test (in a wheel chair), took my kids to contest and got a "Sweepstakes" Award--their first in over a decade! But---you guessed it---I broke something.
That something was my foot---5th Metatarsal. Yuk-
--Long story short---BREAK---re-break---won't stay still---re-break-----won't stay still. Surgery-------won't stay still. Wheel Chair---3 months---dang--you're kidding ! What a way to start a career as a Realtor.
There is always a Silver Lining when you keep your ears open as a Real Estate Professional, however! The Doctor was looking for a house and bought this one! from whom? Me---the hobbling Realtor!
This time......I broke my toes. Ouch.....hobble...............ouch.............hobble.....next property. Glutton for punishment? Not so much. Stubborn----YOU BET!
I love being a REALTOR ! Even when it is inconvenient.

Huntsville Homes -- Helping Others when Tragedy Strikes

Huntsville Homes -- Helping Others when Tragedy Strikes
It happened a year ago. A Fiery Crash. Who had run that red light and why! It took the lives of a young Mother and her Son? Why? Why?
Fast forward to this fall 2010. I received a call from a Mom helping her son find his first home. We talked, I thought of what just might be the perfect place. We went to see it---they LOVED it! Happy---they were happy. Even Dad came along.
The son is quite a character--a bright young man in his early 20's with a promising future. Now---he has his first place. He is kind of a "prankster" as well. He enjoys "pulling one over on me" every now and then. Just a happy young man.
So...why did I see tears in his eyes when we wrote the contract and scheduled the closing date?
....his closing date was his birthday...and last year's birthday celebration was the last time he saw his sister and nephew alive.
"For such a...

Huntsville TX Homes -- Who is Singing in the Back Yard????
What is all of that noise?? It's Mari again. She's singing.
It is a beautiful late summer morning in Huntsville TX.
Sprinklers are going trying to keep whatever is left of the garden alive.
It smells cooler, like fall is finally overcoming his formidable opponent "Texas Summer."
Lovely day. Happy Day I just wanted to say: "Good Morning!!!!!" To you...and you and you and you and you...............

DEATH BY TECHNOLOGY...What happened to my life?
Sun. October 17, 2010 at 03:52 AM
Susan speaks to this conundrum we have found ourselves in. I am very conflicted about the whole subject. In one way, I want to embrace every technology tool and learn everything I can to serve my client the best way possible. On the other hand, it's supposed to be family first--and absorbing and implementing all the new technology tools can overwhelm all of your time if you are not careful.
What to do? First, I will use technology to re-blog and share through the internet (or as one Senator called it---a "series of tubes"). Now, off to Facebook to catch up on what I missed while I was re-blogging this post!Via Susan Haughton OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA REALTOR® (Long & Foster REALTORS® OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA):My mind is reeling. My head is pounding. My stomach is a little queasy. And I'm simply overwhelmed.

Texas Real Estate: New to the Market : 2.3 Million Square Feet, Retractable Roof, 30,000 Parking Spaces

Texas Real Estate: New to the Market : 2.3 Million Square Feet, Retractable Roof, 30,000 Parking Spaces
Are you out of closet space and still need to store your original size "Statue of Liberty," or would it be convenient to "tuck away" the Entirety of the American Airlines Center -- Home of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars--inside another container with easy access for removal with it's retarctable roof or humongous retractable doors on either side?
Do these problems sound all "too familiar?" Now, look no further than the......NEW Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. The MEGA Sports Dome that will host this past year's NBA All Star weekend, and this year's Superbowl.
For just $1.3 BILLION, it could have been yours. What a Real Estate deal, eh??????? It is truly AMAZING.
My husband and I visited the stadium when we were in Arlington for the September afternoon Ranger game against the Mariners. It couldn't have been more...

Huntsville TX Homes -- GO RANGERS !!!!
What Rangers? The Texas Rangers.
Oh, you mean the toughest Western Lawmen of all time of "One Right, One Ranger" fame.
No, silly. (Yes, I am talking to myself again---and it sounds like I am answering too--this could be trouble)
The Texas Rangers Baseball Team. I love my Rangers. Yes, they did not fare well last evening in their first game against the "Evil Empire" New York Yankees. But I stil believe "it's time" for my Rangers. We have been fans through the not so good years. We enjoy watching every game we can and are huge fans of their announcers "Josh and Tag."
They have that "home grown " feel, they are young upstarts, have incredible entusiasm and passion for the game. They are SO much fun to watch.
We got to see an afternoon game a couple of weeks ago. We had a BLAST! I sang in the stands---yes, at the top of my lungs. We cheered, clapped, ate hot dogs, got...

Huntsville TX Homes --- Isn't it time you discovered Huntsville TX ?

Huntsville TX Homes --- Isn't it time you discovered Huntsville TX ?
Beauty, Sam Houston National Forest, Sam Houston State University (Texas' fastest growing Universuty!), Stable Home Values, Texas History, clean air, accessibility to Houston on the I-45 corridor, wildlife, ranch land, room to spread lout withour breaking the bank.....the list can truly go on and on.
Huntsville TX is an awesome place to consider if you are "fixing to retire," want to slow down a bit, are tired of the noise and overcrowding of Houston or Houston suburb, etc. Retirees love the small town feel, being just an hour from Houston and Major Medical Facilities like MD Anderson, the fact that it is a college town, and don;t forget, Elkins Lake and free golf!
I blog about it a lot. I can't help it. I love it here and I don't even play golf! One Homeowners fee and it is literally all the golf you can play with NO GREEN FEES! You are not dreaming, it is true.
Huntsville TX has a small town feel and a...
